IS RELIANCE JIO KILLING MUMBAI’S OPEN SPACES?
-        A Media discussion at the Press Club on 3 March

In recent days there has been serious concern expressed at the permission granted by Mumbai civic authorities to Reliance Jio to take over space in parks and playgrounds all over the city to erect towers to provide 4G connectivity for mobiles and other electronic gadgets.

The Press Club has received calls and petitions for many journalists and local citizen groups to discuss the matter in all seriousness. A local MP has filed an FIR claiming 1,300 open spaces, grounds and public hospitals are under threat of encroachment.

To provide a platform for issues that concern the city, the Press Club has invited a few public-minded persons who have domain knowledge on the subject to tell us what is brewing. The panel discussion on: Will Reliance Jio choke Mumbai’s open spaces? has been convened at the Conference hall of the Press Club at3.45 PM on Tuesday, 3 March, 2015.
