The internet has empowered people across the world to create content and engage in eyewitness reporting at a scale never before possible. But it’s also made it harder to separate fact from fiction.

Please join the Google News Lab Workshop on Verification of Online Content, onNovember 22, 2017, to learn time-saving tools and methods to fight misinformation online, and verify the authenticity and accuracy of user generated images and videos.

Surabhi Malik, who leads Google's News Lab programme in India, will conduct the workshop.

The global programme is designed to help newsrooms and journalists learn the best ways to effectively use Google tools like Google Trends, Advance Search, Google Maps, Fusion Tables, YouTube etc for news gathering and reporting. Some of the key focus areas of the program include - Online Verification to check Fake News, Immersive storytelling, Data journalism and Multimedia storytelling
