KEKI DARUWALLA, recipient of the Tata Literature Live! Poet Laureate Award, ‘17, is the author of 18 books, including collections of poetry, short stories and a novel. Born in Lahore, Daruwalla joined the Indian Police Service after graduating in English Literature from Punjab University. He published his first book of poems Under Orion in ‘ 70. Among his many honours are the Uttar Pradesh State Award, ‘ 72, the Sahitya Akademi Award, ‘84, the Commonwealth Poetry Award (Asia), ’87 and the Padma Shri, ‘14. Ancestral Affairs is his latest novel.
